"Wir sind ohne Reservierung am Lago Camp gestrandet und es war wunderschön. Wir wurden sehr freundlich begrüßt und haben einen tollen Stellplatz bekommen. Hunde sind herzlich willkommen. Sie können abseits der Badegäste ohne Leine im Wasser toben. Es gibt einen eingezäunten Hundeauslauf mit Kotbeutelspender und frisches Wasser. Das Sanitärgebäude war super sauber und gepflegt. Stand up paddling in Maccagno 🏄‍♀️
You can hire SUPs straight at Lagocamp in summer, right by the public beach, so this one is very easy to add to the day. Go in the morning for calmer water, soft light, and lovely views of Maccagno, the mountains, and the lakeside. If you are visiting for the day, there is public parking nearby around Parco Giona too.

Cycle day from Luino 🚴‍♂️
For the easier version, take the boat from Maccagno to Luino first and start there. If you want the bigger ride, Luino to Laveno via Passo del Cuvignone is the stronger option at around 46.5 km with about 900 m of climbing, so it suits confident cyclists or guests on an e-bike more than a casual little pedal. You get lake views, pretty towns, shady sections, and a proper sense of having earned your gelato after. PS we hire e-bikes at Lagocamp too.

Borromean Islands day trip ⛴️
This is one of the real highlights of Lago Maggiore. From Maccagno you can start by boat and make your way south, with connections through places like Laveno or Intra depending on the timetable. The classic Borromean route from Laveno or Intra stops at Isola Madre for the palace and botanical park, Isola dei Pescatori for a wander and lunch, and Isola Bella for the Baroque palace and Italian garden. Scenic, easy-going, and very good for guests who want to explore without rushing.

That’s the nice thing about a stay at Lagocamp. You can keep the day active when you feel like it, and still keep the whole holiday feeling easy and relaxed.

Madonna della Punta is one of them. Just a 10-minute walk from Lagocamp along the lake, this little church in Maccagno has been part of the village`s story since the 16th century, and somehow every visit still ends with a few more photos on your phone. Quiet views, an easy stroll, and a very lovely spot to have so close by.
