Even better? The ferry terminal in Maccagno is just 200 metres from Lagocamp, about a 3-minute stroll. Perfect for a spontaneous day trip without touching the car keys.

🌿 Luino
Best known for its massive Wednesday market, the biggest on the Lago! You’ll find everything from fresh cheese to leather bags to random souvenirs you didn’t know you needed. The town gets lively, so bring your appetite and a tote bag.

🌸 Cannobio
Charming promenade, colourful houses, and a Sunday market right by the water. Great for a slow walk through the old town, with plenty of cafés to stop for a spritz or gelato. Feels like a postcard.

🇨🇭 Locarno
Just over the Swiss border, lovely cobbled piazza, arcades, and very tidy vibes. Great for a chill day of people-watching, window shopping, and maybe a slice of Swiss chocolate cake.

🌺 Stresa
Famous for its elegant lakefront and old-world charm. The boats to the Borromean Islands leave from here, and the flower-lined promenade is peak “classic Lago” energy. Wear your sunglasses and pretend you`re in a movie.

🌊 Verbania (Intra & Pallanza)
More of a “local town” feel. Long waterfront, beautiful villas, and less touristy. If you’re into gardens, Villa Taranto is here and blooming most of the year.

• Buy tickets at the station, not online.
• Get there 15 mins early to beat the queue, especially in summer.
• They’ll ask for your return time when you book, have a rough idea!
