Dog-Friendly Campsite on Lago Maggiore

Camping with a dog? Marco, Claudia, and their pup Bella enjoyed a relaxing, pet-friendly holiday full of nature and comfort at Lagocamp on Lake Maggiore.

“We love camping, and Bella is such a big part of our lives,” shared Marco. “Finding a place where she’d be welcome and could enjoy herself was so important to us.”

Open Spaces for Dogs and Connecting with Others

From the moment they arrived, Bella’s excitement was infectious. The campsite offered plenty of open spaces for her to roam freely, and she quickly became a favourite among the children playing nearby. “Seeing her wagging her tail and making new friends, it just made us so happy,” Claudia said. Marco and Claudia chose a shaded pitch, which provided Bella with a cool, comfortable spot to relax.

Pet-Friendly Activities at Lago Maggiore

Lagocamp’s location offered endless opportunities for pet-friendly activities. Each morning, the trio embarked on a refreshing stroll along the lakeside path. Bella loved splashing in the shallow waters. “The views of the Alps and the clear water were breathtaking,” said Claudia. “It was the perfect way to start our day.”

Facilities Designed for Pet Owners

The campsite’s facilities made their stay even more enjoyable. The sanitary building was spotless, and the staff’s love for animals added a personal touch. “The specifically design dog shower at the facilities was an absolute highlight, especially after a full day by the lake, the chance to rinse our furry friend off is ideal. And everyone was so friendly and accommodating,” said Claudia. “They even gave us great tips for nearby pet-friendly spots, like Cannero Riviera, where Bella could join us for a leisurely walk and a lakeside picnic.”

Peaceful Evenings Under the Stars

Evenings at Lagocamp were just as memorable. Marco and Claudia would enjoy quiet moments under the stars while Bella curled up contentedly beside them. “Those evenings were so peaceful,” Marco said.

Fresh Flavours from Local Markets in Maccagno

The family also made time to visit local markets in nearby Maccagno, where they picked up fresh ingredients to prepare at the campsite. “Cooking outdoors with Bella by our side was such a joy,” Claudia recalled. “It felt so natural and relaxing, and the food tasted even better in the fresh air.”

A Scenic Boat Trip to End the Holiday on Lago Maggiore

On their final day, the trio took a boat trip around Lago Maggiore, with Bella enjoying the gentle breeze on deck. “It was a beautiful way to end our holiday,” said Marco. With the ferry dock only a few hundred metres away from the campsite, it’s the perfect way to explore other parts of the lake and a bonus is that dogs are also permitted on board.

The Perfect Italian Camping Destination for Pet Owners

For pet owners looking for a camping destination that truly welcomes four-legged family members, Lagocamp is the perfect choice. “It’s a great place for anyone who wants to explore nature and share the experience with their pet,” Marco added.
