Maccagno is located close by the forested Veddasca-valley and directly situated on the Lake Maggiore. The little town is separated by the river Giona. At the top half you can find different shops, sportsgrounds and tourist information points, whereas at ‘Maccagno Inferiore’, you will see the older part of the city with nice little alleys and a small tourist port.

Maccagno is the ideal starting point for different leisure activities. The mountains surrounding Maccagno are a paradise for hikers and mountain bikers. Those who like to do shopping will enjoy the popular Wednesday markets in Luino, or cities such as Varese or Milan, which are also easily accessible.

For those who like to be active in the water or who enjoy climbing: You can rent Stand Up Paddling Boards or boats at the lakeside and go to the nearby climbing park with 100 different obstacle courses – all at walking distance.
